About USA Paycheck Calculator
USA Paycheck Calculator publishes free, sourced paycheck withholding calculators, state by state. Every statutory figure on this site (a tax rate, an exemption amount, a wage base, a threshold) is drawn from a primary government source, linked from the page it appears on, with the fetch date recorded internally. Where a figure cannot be verified from a primary source, the page says so rather than presenting an estimate as fact.
This site is published by USA Paycheck Calculator. It is not a payroll provider, a law firm, or an accounting firm, and nothing on this site is legal, tax, or accounting advice. See ourdisclaimer for the full scope of that limitation.
Each calculator is built against the specific statute governing that state and, where applicable, its cities: for Michigan, that means IRS Publication 15-T for federal withholding, the Michigan Department of Treasury's own withholding guidance for state tax, and each city's own published rate for local tax. Where a state or city publishes conflicting or stale information, we note the conflict and state which source we followed and why, rather than silently picking one.
